Pup … Loyal Friend, Companion
and Hero
Pup was a Border Collie who saved two women's lives 30
years ago. And what a story it is. Pup lived with his
owner, Margaret Besecker in Colorado near Gunnison. One
winter day when two of Margaret's friends came calling,
a sudden blizzard stalled their car. In an effort to
walk up the road to the ranch (not knowing it was four
miles), one woman collapsed and could not continue. As
night fell, the other walked farther and soon collapsed. |

|
Pup just knew someone was in
trouble and tried to wake Margaret to no avail. So he
went out alone and found the closest woman. He led her
back to the ranchhouse in the dark and they woke
Margaret. Together with Pup, she drove her Jeep through
huge snowdrifts and finally found the first woman, near
death and nursed her frozen legs until they could get
help when the storm ended. It was a happy ending, thanks
to Pup! Pup was
memorialized on a piece of marble, engraved with a
sand-carving system for a lasting image. |

Now doesn't that face say “I'm in charge,”
and if you're a cat lover, you can relate! |

Margaret especially loves horses, and you
can see it by the attention to detail on these three
magnificent animals in a wood frame. |
Max the Wonder Dog …
|
|
 |
“Margaret took a
picture of Max, my happy little Jack Russell Terrier, and
engraved his furry face on a crystal plate. There is no
doubt the engraving depicts my dog, Max. She is so true
to the original. Great job.”

What better way to show off your favorite
collies
than in these permanent window hangings. |

|
 |
|
Whimsical, to say the least, this
“hanging around” cat engraving captures both the love of
this special pet and the home the cat shared with its
owner. This wood-framed wall or window hanging is a great
conversation piece and a wonderful memory. |
|
When you compare the original
photo to Stewart Design's engraving, the closeness in
detail is amazing. Margaret seems to almost be able to
capture the pet's personality – just what every pet
lover wants as a remembrance of their pet. |

The Arabian horse head is a 25"X19" wall
hanging mounted over black velvet.
Because the artist did this amazing horse
head for her own pleasure, she let her imagination run. It
has very finely chiseled features and a very full, flowing
mane … almost like a dream horse. |
